From the recommendations of the Bhore Committee in 1959 to launching of the Jal Jeevan Mission at the national level in 2019, India has spread its initiatives in the drinking water sector all across the country. Despite the initial aim of reaching 90 per cent of the households in 60 years’ time, as recommended by the Bhore Committee in 1949, India is still struggling to reach pipe water to all the households, especially in rural areas. There are several quality issues like the presence of arsenic, fluoride in drinking water in several parts of the country. We propose to provide solutions to the governments and local bodies, national and international organisations for providing arsenic-free, fluoride-free drinking water to the community through different community-driven interventions, both in hardware and software.
