Apart from using ‘appropriate construction technology’, we would support the governments and other institutions by making alternative construction materials like fly ash bricks, paver blocks, cement substitute materials and other non-conventional materials available for use. Construction and demolition waste would also be put to appropriate re-use. Infrastructure would be built by using discarded shipping containers and other used items as demonstration. Thereafter conscious efforts would be made to encourage the local actors to use such materials in construction.
